Porsche Australia will offer a $225,000 travel and participation support package to Carrera Cup teams in 2020
In support of Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup Australia teams and drivers, Porsche Cars Australia has announced a record range of support measures designed to assist competitors in the 2020 season.
The new and extended support measures will be delivered in the form of two rebates pools consisting of a Travel Rebate and a Participation Rebate for eligible competitors.
The extended Travel Rebate increases the current assistance to Round 4 and 5 of the 2020 Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup Australia championship, which will be held at Townsville, Queensland and Darwin, Northern Territory respectively.
โTownsville and Darwin are two marquee events on the calendar but are the two furthest races for our teams to travel to. We are confident that this increased financial support will assist all teams, as these two events are highlights of our calendar next year alongside the Superloop Adelaide 500, Australian Grand Prix, Sydney Super Night Race, The Bend OTR 500, Supercheap Bathurst 1000 and Gold Coast 600.โ
In a first for the category, Porsche Cars Australiaโs second support measure, totalling $120,000, is a Participation Rebate pool for competitors who compete in all of Rounds 1-4 and 5-8.โ
Commenting on the announcement, Porsche Cars Australiaโs Head of Motorsport, Troy Bundy said, โOffering our drivers, teams and customers this record financial support is hugely gratifying. None of this would be possible without Porscheโs ongoing commitment to Australian motorsport and our partners such as PAYCE who recently renewed their sponsorship of the series until the end of 2021.โ
He continued, โHaving celebrated 15 seasons of Carrera Cup this year, Porsche is looking forward to an exciting 2020 with improved calendars, television packages, prizes as well the highly regarded Michelin Junior Driver Development program.โ
