Porsche Cars Australia has named Angel Flight as the Official Charity of its two local motor racing categories – Porsche City Index Carrera Cup Australia and Porsche Staff Solutions International GT3 Cup Challenge Australia.
Angel Flight is a charity that coordinates non-emergency flights for patients and families around the country in medical and financial need. Flights are free of charge with Angel Flight volunteer pilots donating their time, skills and the bulk of aircraft costs.
Angel Flight will receive significant branding opportunities within the Porsche motor racing categories with the intention to drive the charity’s awareness throughout the wider motorsport community.
The partnership between Porsche Cars Australia and Angel Flight was shaped by Michael Loccisano – competitor in the Porsche City Index Carrera Cup Australia championship and Angel Flight volunteer pilot.
“I am really pleased that Porsche has acknowledged the vital service that Angel Flight delivers. This initiative provides an opportunity to spread the word to the broader motorsport community which in turn will reach out to more Australians who can benefit from Angel Flight services,” said Loccisano.
“I am thrilled to combine my passions of flying and motorsport to help Angel Flight. I have been an Angel Flight pilot since 2004. I read an article about the charity and signed up the very next day. Having family who live in rural Victoria, I knew first hand that this was a much needed service that would directly benefit the thousands of country Australians doing it financially and medically tough.”
Porsche Cars Australia Jamey Blaikie welcomes Angel Flight as a valued partner of the Porsche motorsport categories in Australia.
“We are happy to help spread the word of the importance of Angel Flight and aid in any way to raise awareness for this valued organisation – especially one that’s closely linked to us through Michael’s association as a volunteer pilot,” said Blaikie.
Angel Flight CEO and founder, Bill Bristow AM, thanked all involved in the choice of Angel Flight as charity and all involved as competitors, administrators and spectators.
“Your help will be of great value,” Bristow said.
