Carrera Cup will retain its position as the premier support category on the Repco Supercars Championship program in 2025 with every round hosted at major Supercars events and broadcast live on Fox Sports and Kayo, with selected key rounds also broadcast on the Seven Network.
The championship opens at Sydney Motorsport Park in late February at the Sydney 500, alongside the opening round of the Repco Supercars Championship.
The annual visit to the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix will serve as round two, before the Top End hosts Round 3 of the championship in mid-June at Hidden Valley.
Round 4 will see the championship return to Queensland Raceway in Ipswich for the first time since the 2008 season.
The circuit was a staple on the Carrera Cup calendar between 2003-2008, with Jim Richards, Alex Davison, Fabian Coulthard and Craig Baird (twice) claiming round honours.
QR has provided exciting action in recent Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia rounds with the same expected when Carrera Cup returns.
Shell V-Power Motorsport Park at The Bend returns to host the fifth round; Carrera Cup continuing to support the opening round of the Supercars Endurance Season at The Bend 500.
The blockbuster run to the checkered flag then includes the regular stops at the Repco Bathurst 1000, Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 and VAILO Adelaide Grand Finale to end the year on a high in South Australia.
Along with (schedule dependent) 60 minutes of practice and qualifying, Three races will feature at each round, with the Pro, Pro-Am, Michelin Junior, Endurance Cup (Pro & Pro-Am) and Teams Championships all offering title opportunities throughout the season.
The championship enjoys pride of place in the Supercars Championship paddock, the iconic Porsche Teams Hospitality Lounge, dedicated video, PR and digital media coverage plus the traditional support of the Porsche Motorsport Australia team – including the provision of spare parts, garaging, technical and operational support and much more.
2025 is going to be an enormous year for Australia’s top one-make category!

Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Type 992)
The spectacularly styled Cup car is the first racing version based on the current 992 generation road car and the first one make-cup racer of the German sports car manufacturer to feature a wide turbo-spec body.
Producing around 375 kW (510 hp), the new 911 GT3 Cup exceeds the output of its immediate predecessor by 25 horsepower.
The overall increase in performance of the 992 generation - over the Type 991 II generation - was immediately apparent in the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup rounds in 2021, where lap times were slashed by up to three seconds at most European circuits.
This was in part due to not only the increase in power, but increased traction and downforce, with component run times also extended over the previous generation - offering lower running costs and reliability for all.

Classifications
DRIVERS IN CARRERA CUP AUSTRALIA FALL WITHIN TWO CLASSES – PRO AND PRO-AM. THERE ARE GUIDELINES IN PLACE TO HELP DETERMINE THE CLASSIFICATION OF A DRIVER, WITH THE ULTIMATE DECISION FALLING WITH PORSCHE CARS AUSTRALIA.
Pro
At the front of the Carrera Cup Australia field will be drivers competing in the Pro class. Consisting of some of the country’s best sports car drivers, the Pro class is for experienced drivers, many of whom have had, or have an ambition to forge a professional motor racing career.
The Pro class consists of reserve Supercars Championship drivers as well as talented junior drivers who are eager to use their experienced rivals as a benchmark to prove their ability in identical 911 GT3 Cup (Type 992) race cars.
Morris Finance Pro-Am
Carrera Cup Australia is just as much about the Pro-Am racer as it is of the drivers competing for outright victory.
The Pro-Am class is exclusively for semi-professional race car drivers. These drivers do not seek to make a profession from motor racing nor do they seek to earn an income from racing duties. Instead, the Pro-Am racer consists of business leaders with a willingness to race sports cars. Or more specifically, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.

Victorian Mouzouris joins the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia championship battle-hardened following two seasons in the competitive Supercars Super2 Series.
The 2019 Australian Formula Ford Champion, Mouzouris moved into Supercars the following season with Triple Eight Race Engineering, finishing on the podium in his second season.

Second-generation Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia racer Jackson Walls stepped up to the big time in 2021, making his one-make Porsche debut aboard an Objective Racing Porsche, run by the McElrea Racing squad.
The son of Morris Finance Pro-Am class regular Tony, 19-year-old Jackson has plied his trade in junior open-wheel racing, completing two years in Australian Formula 4 before tackling the Formula Renault Eurocup and the Toyota Racing Series.
He’s since shifted his focus to Porsche racing and made his debut in the non-championship Porsche PAYCE and Michelin event at Sandown in late 2020, impressing by being on the pace immediately.
His first ‘full’ season in 2021 saw him finish 10th in the championship, with a best finish of sixth at Mount Panorama in the final round of the season.
Driver Bio
A graduate from the competitive world of Hyundai Excel Racing, Bayley Hall’s two most recent seasons may have been interrupted by the Pandemic, but he’s still shown plenty of speed in his brief appearances at a National scene to prove he has what it takes at a high level.
Fresh from success in Queensland state-level competition, Hall expanded into national-level racing via the MARC Cars Australia program, including making a start in the Bathurst 12 Hour.
He finished sixth in the Bathurst 6 Hour in 2021 and also made his Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia debut with McElrea Racing that year, scoring one podium finish from two round starts in the pandemic challenged season.
He steps to Carrera Cup this year with the same team.
Driver Bio
THE Grandson of former Carrera Cup racer Tony and son of Carrera Cup racer Klark, Ryder Quinn is the first, third-generation driver to compete in Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia. Linking with McElrea Racing, Quinn comes into the championship fresh from a Formula Ford campaign in 2022, and a summer in New Zealand in Formula Regional Oceania. His first major race win came in the A2 class of the 2023 Bathurst 6 Hour, driving with his ‘Popeye’ and Grant Denyer.
